Coffee is a big part of many people’s lives. You get up in the morning and help yourself to a good, hot cup of coffee which gives you your much-needed morning fix to get ready for work. Not only this but throughout the day, you’ll continue to top up your energy levels by having a cup of coffee here and there.
However, despite the fact that coffee has become such an important part of our day and we might think we’ve gotten pretty good at brewing a perfect cup, in reality, we might not be doing it right. Believe it or not, there are several no-nos and false myths that you might not be wary of when making your cup of Joseph Daniels.
So, here is the run-down on some misconceptions about coffee that should set you straight.

1. It’s Not a Quick Fix
For starters, people generally look at coffee as a harmless drink, which essentially means that they can have a big old gulp of it whenever they wish to or pair it with whatever food item they like. An example of this could be someone turning to a cup of coffee in a desperate attempt to cure their hangover. If only you knew that this practice could only make matters worse because drinking coffee after you have already had an alcoholic drink can make matters worse and actually make it impossible for you to ascertain just how drunk you actually are. It might sound funny but a situation like this can become dangerous fairly quickly.

2. Not Everything Goes in the Microwave
Another misconception surrounding coffee is that reheating it in the microwave makes it good as new. When you heat up the coffee, and that too in a microwave, you are, in fact, giving yourselves a cup of stale and weak-flavored coffee, which is definitely not going to help you stay up for that all-important exam tomorrow. For that, you need a good ol’ shot of espresso.
3. It Won’t Be Great Forever
When it comes to storing coffee, there are a lot of misconceptions. People usually tend to believe that coffee is like honey and as such, will always stay fresh and never go bad. In reality, coffee is not a product that you’d want to store for a long time. The best coffee is always fresh coffee.
