Thanks to the vaccines and booster doses, schools are opening up once again and you know what that means: back-to-school shopping!
Whether you’re one of those parents who absolutely dread back-to-school shopping or you don’t mind it all that much, no one can escape from it. Dealing with children is not an easy task and back-to-school shopping might just drain your savings account completely.
So, here are some ways you can save money while making sure your child has everything they need.
1. Make A List
Your first task would be to determine what your child needs. You can do so by making a list of all the items needed (this step might be irrelevant because some schools provide a list of back-to-school essentials alreay). You can also get in touch with your child’s teachers to ask which items should be on your priority list. This will help you get all of the necessary items immediately and then you can wait a couple of weeks to get the remaining items.
2. Go Shopping on Tax Holiday
There are 16 states that host sales tax holidays for one weekend over the summer. This is the perfect opportunity to grab all of the things you need without paying any sales tax on goods purchased. However, before you head over to stock up your inventory, keep in mind that some states have a limitation on the quantity of a specific product you can buy tax-free. Some states also have different restrictions on the types of items that can go on sale without any tax.
3. Plan and Compare
Plan your trips to the store when they are less crowded and you have more time. This will allow you time and space to check out all the various products and compare their prices before making an informed decision. Most of the time, the quality of products is almost similar but some brands charge more than others. With time on your side, you can easily save a few bucks just by doing a little bit of research.
So, what do you think of these saving hacks? They sound pretty good to us!
